On May 22nd, 1971, a gathering at the home of Brian and Pat Dyson was held to gain support for the formation of the Rottweiler Club of Victoria. The emblem selected to represent the newly formed Club was that of the German town Rottweil. The aim of this Club is to protect and promote the Rottweiler. The first General Meeting was held on June 25th, 1971, 32 people were in attendance. Elected to Office were:

The Rottweiler Club of Victoria Inc.
- Is larger on its own than all other State and Territory clubs around Australia put together.
- RVC is a strong breed club with members who are dedicated to the Rottweiler.
- Provides opportunities to learn about the Rottweiler Breed.
- Provides social training on a Wednesday Night from 7 pm at Dogs Victoria grounds (KCC Park) 655 Westernport Hwy, Skye.
- Caretakes historical breed records of our breed in Victoria.
- RCV members only FB group for all updates and information.
- Promotes Championship shows, Obedience trials, Open shows, Endurance Trials, Breed Surveys, BSE, Rally & Herding.
- Has a very active and committed Promotions team who fulfil educational public engagements regarding the Rottweiler.
- Club General Meetings so members can choose to have their say and be involved with their club.
