VALE DI TAYLOR
Di lost her battle early this morning 27.2.12
Di was a highly respected past President, Secretary, Committee Member and Life Member of the Rottweiler Club of Victoria Inc., and in her own way shaped the running of our Club over many years. She will be sadly missed by her family and the grand children she dedicated her life to in recent years. I am positive Carl has been patiently waiting at Rainbow Bridge for Di to arrive and they can finish their journey together.

VALE Mrs Yvonne Pettengell
Mrs Yvonne Pettengell, one of the Pioneers of the Rottweiler Breed in Australia and a Life Member of the RCV Inc. passed away last week at a Nursing Home in Macedon. Maybe not known to all members but a big part of the history of our breed; Yvonne, along with her husband Jim purchased their first Rottweiler back in the 60’s and stayed loyal to the Breed from that time on. I personally have fond memories of visiting them on many occasions at their Mt Macedon home, with the intention of staying a couple of hours to have a look at a new Import or assist someone purchasing a puppy, only to find, on every occasion, Yvonne and Jim would have you in the Library well into the night talking Rottweilers, their passion in life. They travelled the world visiting kennels, searching for a particular type dog they’d have in mind. Both were masters of Pedigrees; all you had to do was mention a name and instantly get the history of the dog in question without reference to books etc., and they thoroughly enjoyed sharing this information. Many missing links in Pedigrees could be filled in with a phone call to Yvonne or Jim. I often wonder where the breed might now be in Australia if it had not been for their ability to bring Rottweilers to Australia.
